FAQ

Focus on your peak current requirements and operating environment. For instance, our plastic shell series are ideal for lightweight passenger EVs (up to 250A), while our metal shell connectors provide superior EMI shielding for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

To guarantee optimal safety and strict compliance with automotive standards, our core HVIL connectors are supplied as fully validated, standardized components. However, we provide flexible customization for the surrounding system, including:

  • Customized cable assemblies and specific wire lengths.

  • Tailored terminal crimping to match your pack layout.

  • Custom logo printing for volume orders (subject to specific MOQs). Additionally, we offer extensive OEM/ODM capabilities across our broader range of electronic connectors to meet unique project demands.

For in-stock items, orders are typically processed and shipped within 1-2 business days. For standard configurations requiring new production, our agile manufacturing capabilities allow us to deliver in as fast as 7 to 14 days. We recommend contacting our sales team to verify real-time inventory for your specific Part Number.

We conduct rigorous in-house validation for every batch prior to delivery. Our comprehensive testing protocol includes high-voltage resistance verification, salt spray corrosion tests, mating cycle durability assessments, and strict temperature cycling. This ensures zero defects and consistent performance in demanding automotive environments.

HVIL Connector Knowledge Base

What is HVIL connector?

An HVIL connector (High Voltage Interlock Loop) is a crucial safety component in high-power applications. Unlike standard components, an HVIL connector integrates an advanced safety circuit to continuously monitor connection integrity. This ensures the system instantly cuts off high-voltage power if a breach occurs, protecting equipment and personnel from electrical hazards.

How does HVIL connector work?

The mechanism of an HVIL connector relies on a precise dual-terminal design. It utilizes low-voltage signal terminals to verify the physical engagement of the main high-voltage terminals. During disconnection, the HVIL connector breaks the low-voltage loop first, signaling the system controller to shut down high-voltage power before the main contacts separate.

HVIL connector structure

The advanced structure of an HVIL connector houses both high-voltage power cables and low-voltage interlock signal lines within a durable shell. Essential structural components include a secure plug and socket, a dedicated interlock switch, and mechanical keying for error-free mating. This robust construction ensures long-term reliability.
